Half Cents
*NEW*
1854 Braided Half Cent NGC MS63RB
$725
Generous amounts of fiery, faded mint-red color remain, and blend nicely with the darker "brown" areas on both sides of this pleasing Half Cent.
Cents
*NEW*
1818 Coronet Cent PCGS MS63BN
$650
Newcomb-10. Medium, even steel-brown color, with surfaces which are much cleaner than typically seen at this grade level.
*NEW*
1850 Braided Hair Cent NGC/CAC MS66RB
$1925
Sharply struck, with a lovely blend of faded mint-red hues on each side. I think that this coin looks (merely) good in the image, but great in person. NGC has graded only two examples higher for this grade and color designation.
1862 Copper Nickel Cent PCGS PR66
$3350
A colorful, eye-appealing representative, which is slightly lighter and brighter than seen in the image. Obvious cameo contrast can be seen on each side, but apparently not enough to have garnered the "Cameo" designation. A beauty! But CAC declined to award a sticker to this coin.
*NEW*
1906 Indian Cent NGC MS67RB
$825
NGC has recognized only two MS67's for this date, this MS67RB and an MS67RD. This one boasts nearly flawless surfaces and bountiful luster. It is also more colorful, vibrant and impressive looking, when viewed in person.
Two Cent Pieces
Three Cent Pieces
*NEW*
1868 Three Cent Nickel NGC/CAC MS65
$625
As business strike Three Cent Nickels go, this one is quite colorfully, in fact, rather wildly toned. The hues are more vivid than seen in the image, and this is easily one of the prettiest business strikes I have seen of any date and grade.
*NEW*
1883 Three Cent Nickel PCGS PR66
$750
I sold this coin previously, to a client who just traded it back in against two others that he wanted. Some rainbow colored hues are present at the upper and lower obverse border, and this one looks even better in hand than seen in my image.
Nickels
*NEW*
1912-S Liberty Nickels PCGS/CAC MS65
$5175
This scarce and popular S-mint issue is not done justice by the accompanying image. The primary reason is that each side displays faint, attractive pastel patina, which can't be seen unless this coin is tilted slightly. That little bit of effort will lead to a generous visual payoff.
*NEW*
1913 Type Two Buffalo Nickel PCGS PR66
$2750
Highly vibrant and more colorful and eye-appealing than my image shows, this certainly looks to be an above average representative of the type and grade. The 1913 Type Two Proofs are much tougher than both the 1914 and the 1915 issues.
*NEW*
1915 Buffalo Nickel PCGS/CAC PR66
$2600
Gently and attractively toned, without any noticeable flaws or distractions, whatsoever. The surfaces are highly vibrant and the overall eye-appeal is excellent. Another wonderful example of a Matte Proof Buffalo.
1937 Buffalo Nickel PCGS/CAC PR67+
$4000
Wildly toned in stunning multicolored iridescent hues and of superb technical quality, as well. However good you might think this coin looks in the image, it looks far better in hand. The PCGS Population Report shows that only 11 have been graded higher, and the last two (PR68's to have sold) that I know of, brought in excess of $10,000 each. Sight-unseen, at least, it's very difficult to imagine that either or both merited a 150% price premium to this amazing coin. Can you tell that I like this one a little bit?
Half Dimes
1867 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Half Dime PCGS PR65
$1525
Colorfully toned on both sides, with even more pop and pizzazz than seen in the image. From an original mintage of only 625 pieces. CAC declined to award a sticker to this coin.
1869 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Half Dime PCGS PR63
$675
Sharply impressed, even considering that it's a Proof, with attractive toning on both sides. This is not your everyday PR63 offering.
Dimes
*NEW*
1840 No Drapery Seated Liberty Dime NGC MS63
$825
Sharply struck , lustrous and colorfully toned in light pastel hues. The color is lighter and the surfaces, more vibrant, in person. A flashy example of this short lived variety.
*NEW*
1869 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime PCGS PR65 Cameo
$1650
Here is a headlight of a Proof Seated Liberty Dime. The surfaces are color-free and the cameo contrast is extremely intense. In fact, this one looks to be only barely shy of the "Deep Cameo/DCAM" designation.
*NEW*
1874 Arrows Seated Liberty Dime NGC MS64*
$1700
This coin, no doubt, received its star from NGC, due to its flashy PL surfaces. This type of appearance is quite uncommon for the 1873-1874 Arrows dime type. And, in fact, this is the only one of its type to have received a star from NGC, with none having been awarded the "PL" designation. For the most part, the lighter areas on each side are closer to white than seen in the image, and the pizzazz and eye-appeal are considerably greater in person.
*NEW*
1874 Arrows Seated Liberty Dime PCGS PR63
$1100
A quick glance might lead one to believe that this is a gem, but well concealed hairlines account for the assigned grade. Still, this colorful representative looks much more appealing than most others I have seen for this grade.
1880 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime PCGS/CAC PR65
$1450
Colorfully toned on both obverse and reverse, this highly attractive Seated Dime looks extremely close to how it appears in the image.
*NEW*
1886 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime NGC MS65 PL
$895
Color-free, indicating a previous dipping, with a bold strike and prooflike surfaces - hence the "PL" designation from NGC. NGC has recognized only 13 PL's at this grade level and 23 higher, for the entire Seated Dime series -14,450 graded, in all, as of the time I wrote this description.
*NEW*
1890 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime NGC/CAC PR64
$875
When tilted even just a little bit, this coin exhibits patches of violet and green on the obverse and a virtually color-free reverse. In other words, what look to be dark areas of toning on the reverse, is actually the effect of shadows. And ditto for much of the obverse surface.
*NEW*
1890 Legend Obverse Seated Liberty Dime PCGS PR65
$1475
An eye-catching cameo with frosted devices, nicely offset by the glittering, mirror-like fields. Additionally, the surfaces display delicate multicolored toning and plenty of flash.
*NEW*
1912 Barber Dime PCGS/CAC MS65
$575
Clean, vibrant surfaces display a blend of silver, copper and red color on each side. Highly original and pleasing looking.
1912 Barber Dime PCGS/CAC MS65
$575
A super clean Barber Dime with rather colorful, pleasing, toning on both obverse and reverse. I suspect that if it had even a little bit more luster, it would have graded higher.
*NEW*
1940-S Mercury Dime PCGS MS67FB
$450
A fully lustrous, semi-prooflike beauty, with colorful patina, which is more subtle, yet prettier than seen in the accompanying image. When viewed in person, this coin's overall appearance is lighter and brighter, as well.
Twenty
Cent Pieces
Quarters
*NEW*
1876 Motto Seated Liberty Quarter PCGS MS64
$925
Lighter, more lustrous and MUCH prettier/more colorful than seen in the image. Trust me on this and you will still be very pleasantly surprised if you view this coin.
*NEW*
1916-D Barber Quarter PCGS MS65
$1075
The PCGS grading label reads "Minor Variety RPM". But I didn't pay extra for it, and you need not, either. The toning is slightly mottled, but also considerably more delicate and attractive than it shows in the picture.
*NEW*
1923 Standing Liberty Quarter NGC/CAC MS67
$1450
An untoned blazer, featuring virtually perfect surfaces and a simply outstanding appearance. This one looks better than I would have imagined, even considering its lofty grade. NGC has graded only two examples of this date higher - an MS67+ non-FH and an MS68 FH example.
1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS/CAC MS65
$535
This original looking Standing Liberty Quarter is somewhat lighter and brighter than it appears in my image. And it displays excellent detail on MS. Liberty's head. While not quite deserving of the "FH" designation, I have seen others with less detail, designated as such.
1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter NGC MS67FH
$2425
Highly original looking in its appearance, with abundant luster and gorgeous jewel tone colors on each side.
*NEW*
1944-S Washington Quarter PCGS/CAC MS67
$625
Here is another "old friend" that I recently reacquired in a trade from a client. And happily so. It offers superbly preserved surfaces and an obverse featuring splendid multicolored toning, which looks even more impressive up close and personal.
Half Dollars
*NEW*
1833 Capped Bust Half Dollar PCGS MS62
$1375
A clean example, featuring light to medium patina and satin-like surfaces. Somewhat subdued luster is probably what keeps it from a higher grade.
*NEW*
1854-O Arrows Seated Liberty Half Dollar NGC/CAC AU55
$450
Medium depth golden-gray patina drapes the surfaces of this lustrous, evenly worn Arrows type representative.
1908-O Barber Half Dollar PCGS/CAC MS66
$5125
This is one of the better looking MS66 Barber Half Dollars I have seen in a good while. It possesses vibrant luster and a lovely mixture of violet, green and orange patina. My apologies, as neither the color nor the luster are done justice by my image. Additionally, the surfaces are free of distracting marks and the overall look is exceptional. Very well suited for a superior Barber Half Dollar or type set.
*NEW*
1912-D Barber Half Dollar PCGS/CAC MS66
$5175
A frosty, silvery hued example with virtually mark-free surfaces and an absolutely pristine appearance. This is an outstanding business strike Barber Half Dollar, and like many other coins from this offering, looks better in person. PCGS population of 14, with just one higher - an MS66+.
1942 Walking Liberty Half Dollar PCGS/CAC PR67
$1025
Brilliant, deeply reflective and super flashy. Although not apparent in the image, the surfaces are highlighted by areas of translucent red, green and violet toning at portions of the borders. Obvious cameo contrast can also be seen over parts of the devices on both sides.
Dollars
*NEW*
1881-S Morgan Dollar NGC/CAC MS65
$195
Sharp, lustrous and semi-prooflike. The surfaces are color-free, that is, if you care to ignore the arc of stunning rainbow color from 3:00 to 9:00 on the obverse.
*NEW*
1884-CC Morgan Dollar PCGS/CAC MS64
$245
Pinkish-orange and violet patina impart personality and charm to this lustrous CC offering.
*NEW*
1889-S Morgan Dollar PCGS/CAC MS65
$1975
Each side exhibits a flashy, semi-prooflike appearance and is highlighted by scattered areas of translucent patina. The toning is noticeably lighter than seen in the image and this coin's eye-appeal is excellent. If you like this one even a little bit from what you can see here, you are almost certain to be extremely impressed if you view it in hand.
Silver Commemoratives
Lafayette Dollar PCGS MS65
$9200
DuVall 3-D, with re-punching at the bottom of the AT in STATES. Somewhat dark, but still colorfully toned, in violet, sea-green, blue and crimson hues, among others. The reverse color is particularly pleasing. The more I look at it, the more I like it.
*NEW*
Grant NGC MS65
$675
Vibrant and rather colorfully toned - more subtly than seen in the accompanying image. This is not your boring, everyday ho-hum, who cares(?) Grant!
*NEW*
1937-D Oregon PCGS/CAC MS66
$355
Gently and evenly toned, with some appealing, subtle color, which needs to be seen in person for full effect. Very clean for the assigned grade.
*NEW*
Vermont PCGS MS65
$650
Housed in an older green label PCGS holder, this Vermont is bright and lustrous, and possesses hints of golden toning at the lower obverse and upper reverse. The color is even more subtle than seen in my image.
Gold
*NEW*
1922 Grant No Star Gold Dollar NGC/CAC MS67
$4975
A nearly flawless, golden-orange example, which has everything going for it. Only nine have been graded higher by NGC.
1881 Gold Dollar PCGS/CAC MS67
$4950
Wonderfully vibrant luster combines with gorgeous color, a highly original appearance and exceptionally well preserved surfaces, to make for a most appealing looking Gold Dollar. From an original mintage of only 7707 pieces, it is unlikely that many of the other survivors have fared as well as this one has. A stunner, which is somewhat lighter and brighter, up close and personal. I love the looks of this one!
1836 Script 8 Classic $2.50 PCGS XF45
$875
Evenly worn, with impressive remaining luster for the grade. This one has no problems worthy of mention.
*NEW*
1906 Liberty $2.50 PCGS MS64
$975
Rarely do I buy "generic" gold coins at this grade level. But the unusual, highly enticing color on this one reeled me in very quickly. My guess is that it spent some time in a leather pouch and has some impurities in the metal. Either way, you wont see many others like it. And I think it looks much better, when viewed in person.
1907 Liberty $2.50 NGC/CAC MS65
$1750
Very sharply struck, with nice color and obvious mint-made die polish lines on both sides. Please don't mistake that for man-made flaws.
*NEW*
1834 Plain 4 Classic $5 PCGS AU55
$1775
Uncommonly lustrous for an AU55, with eye-catching golden-orange color and superior flash. Rarely will you see such an appealing representative of this type, at anywhere near this grade level.
*NEW*
1835 Classic $5 PCGS/CAC MS61
$6575
This is probably my favorite new offering from this list. The strike is extremely sharp, with all design details bold. Not to be outdone, the luster is highly vibrant and the color is a pleasing golden-yellow. This is an obviously honest uncirculated example, with no friction, rub or wear, and that is something which can't be said for all MS61's or even MS62's. Why was it graded MS61 instead of MS62? I don't know or even have a good guess. But I do know that this is one highly impressive and gorgeous looking Classic Head Half Eagle. I am proud to own it and expect that its next owner will feel the same.
